There are 20 chapters in this little book, and ten are here so far. The rest are coming!  We hope you enjoy every one of them!

Chapter One:  In Which Mama is Born on the streets of New York City!

Mama was born in New York City.  She was the little street kitty from New York City!

She was very smart and quick right from the start, and she soon took up residence in an underground parking garage.

She has always been a very clean kitty.  All the other street kitties were dirty.  They had no self respect.

She would bathe 5-6-7- times a day.  She was SO clean and so puuurrrtttyy.

She was so clean and so purttty, she all of a sudden had a bunch of kitties.  What a surprise!

She had six kitties.  Six is double trinity, and family,  friends, and fun.

One day, some very kind people put a little bed in the parking garage, with a heater near by, so that mama and her babies could be warm.  It was cold and winter time, you see.

So Mama continued to bathe her kitties, and kept on bathing herself.

Then those same nice people came to Mama, and talked to her.

“We want to  invite you and your kitties into our home upstairs,” said this nice man and woman.

Mama, being smart, understood this.  Mama decided it would be wonderful to have a nice home, especially for her six babies.

So she stood guard as one by one the kitties were brought way up into a penthouse suite, in a luxurious, very tall building.

When they were all safe, the nice people came back and said...."Mama, it's your turn.  It's safe, now you can come inside too.”

So mama came in from the cold, and into the pent-house life!

They all lived together for many months, in the penthouse apartment, way up in the sky.

The kitties all sat in little window seats, where they could look out.

They could barely see the streets below, but they could see the see the sky, the clouds, the sun, and the rain.

Chapter Two:  In Which Mama Flies First Class!

One day the nice people decided to move away to Bulgaria.  Bulgaria is a very far off land.

They were going to go there to start a whole new life and make wine there.  But they had to find homes for the kitties and Mama before they left.

So one by one, Mama's kitties went to good homes.

Finally, there was just Mama left.

She didn't know where her kitties were, but the nice people told her they were happy, and that she was going to be very, very happy too, because she was going to a very special avenue called Park Avenue in  Minnesota.  She was going to live with Brian and Sheila, and they were very excited that she was coming.  So was their friend Scott.
Everyone on Park Avenue was waiting for Mama!

Mama wasn't quite sure where Minnesota could be, but one day the nice people put her in a special traveler's cage and put her in her own first-class seat in a great big airplane with another nice lady that Mama had never met before, named Tammy.  (Tammy is Sheila's cousin.)

Tammy talked to Mama all the while the plane was flying, and Mama felt safe.

Then Mama was taken in a car to a pretty home on Park Avenue.  She was let out of her traveler's cage, and right into the face of Calley Josephina....a great big fluffy calico cat!

Calley Josephina was NOT happy to see Mama.

But Mama was fast, and Calley Josephina was getting old and couldn't move as fast as Mama.

So they chased each other around the house, and they finally got tired.  Calley J went in one room to a little bed, and mama went to another room, to a little bed.

Everyone settled down for a good night’s sleep.

Mama came that night in a dream to Sheila, her new mistress.  Mama said "I prefer to called Mama Elenora", and so she was.

Whenever she is called Mama Elenora, she comes running to see what is up, but if she's called just "Mama",  she won't come.

To this day, Mama E rules the house, AND the back yard where there are lots of birdies, and squirrels and rabbits.   Mama Eleanora has a splendid time.

ALL except for Pixie...the cat who lives next door.

Mama is on the lookout for Pixie!

Chapter Three:  Pixie Causes Trouble!

Now Pixie isn't your ordinary cat.  Pixie is part Lynx.  She has a sweet little face, but she is very, very mean.  Mama doesn't like Pixie at ALL.  Mama sits in her window perch and glares at Pixie.  When she isn't glaring at Pixie, she is making very strange, awful, almost howling/growling sounds at Pixie.

One night, Pixie tried to get into the house on Park Avenue.  She came straight to the door.  Scott and Sheila were talking, and they got up and looked out the door at Pixie's sweet little face and wondered why Mama was making such strange, howling/growling sounds at Pixie.  Scott and Sheila decided not to let Pixie in.  They decided Pixie might be a naughty cat who would be up to no good in the house and might even start a fight.  So Pixie had to stay outside, but it was a pretty warm night anyway.

Later, Scott went home, and Brian was already asleep.  When Sheila  went to bed, she was surprised to see a GORGEOUS BLACK FOX sitting right on her side of the bed!

The fox had glowing green eyes, and its tail was all curled around it.  It was gazing at Sheila, and this is what it said, "I GOT IN ANYWAY!!!  Sheila knew right then and there that Pixie had shape shifted and had become the gorgeous black fox!!   All God's creatures can shape shift.

Sheila is never afraid of such things because she understands how nature works, so she said to the gorgeous black fox, "Get off my bed - I want to go to sleep!"  The GORGEOUS BLACK FOX disappeared!

Mama is a bathing beauty!  Look how long she is when she stretches way out!

Chapter Four:  The Happy Piano

In the house on Park Avenue, there is a big grand piano.  Mama Eleanora always has her meals under the piano.  Nobody can play the piano when Mama is eating.  Mama likes peace and quiet when she is eating.

Scott used to be a concert pianist, and he told Sheila the piano was out of tune and sad and wanted to be played more, and wanted to be waxed, and wanted to have its strings tuned up so it could sound good again.  So Sheila called up the piano tuner, and he came to the house on Park Avenue and did a lot of tightening of the strings until they were tuned up to his satisfaction.

Then Scott sat down to play, and Sheila could tell that the soul of the piano was happy at last.  It was able to make beautiful sounds again, and Scott's playing gives it new life.  Scott even opened up the top of the grand piano so it looks just like pianos in concert look.

The piano is happy and content.  Mama Eleanora can tell when things are happy and content in the house on Park Avenue.

Possibly the best real ghost picture you will ever see!  It was taken in our living room, but not by any of us!  One day it showed up on Sheila's desktop on her laptop!  We call her the "headless lady".....she is friendly, however, not really sinister at all!

Chapter Five:  Ghosts

Mama Eleanora can see ghosts and spirits in the house on Park Avenue.  Sometimes her humans can see them too, but Mama sees them ALL THE TIME. These ghosts and spirits are very happy in the house on Park Avenue.  Everyone is happy at the pretty house on Park Avenue!

One of the ghosts is Cousin Roger who used to come and see his kitty Calley-Josephina.  He doesn't come as often now, because one day Calley-Josephina died and went to heaven with Roger.  When Roger used to come to check on Calley, he would get very hungry and eat bread.

He never would eat a whole piece, just part, in a great big bite, and then he would wrap the piece back up in the bread bag and leave it.  Sheila had a little talk with Roger and invited him to eat anything he wanted to eat, but please, don't turn the heat up to 90 anymore!  (Ghosts are often cold!)

Chapter Six:  In Which Mama-Eleanora is a Royal Sphinx!

Outside her pretty pink home on Park Avenue, Mama-E has discovered a nicely arranged pile of oval cement blocks.  They are piled in three layers, and they stand about two feet off the ground, right next to the garage.  Mama Eleanora can easily leap up to the top of these cement blocks.  The sun warms them beautifully, so she settles down and gazes around her contentedly.

Soon, people begin to say how royal Mama looked on top of these oval blocks.  Mama-E looks around proudly and lets everyone admire her for a long, long time.  Now, whenever she wants attention, and there are people nearby, she just hops up on her blocks, settles down, and waits to be admired!  She always is, too!  Mama-E knows she is very pretty, very clean, very smart, and she has a lot of self repect!

````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
Chapter Seven:  In Which Mama-Eleanora Delivers a Very Important Message!
One day, a very sad lady came to the pretty pink house on Park Avenue.  She was sad because her son had died, and she wanted to make sure he was all right, and that he had made it up into Heaven. Scott and Sheila help people who are sad.  They do this by talking to the dead.  They can see and hear the dead.  So can Mama Eleanora.
As they were talking to the sad lady's son speaking from heaven, Mamma Eleanora silently appeared out of nowhere and went straight to the sad lady and began to talk to HER in a very sweet, gentle little voice Scott and Sheila had never heard her use before.  Everybody stopped what they were doing and listened to Mama.  Mama talked for a long time, circling around the sad lady and looking seriously and earnestly up into her face.  The sad lady listened to Mama and heard her say that her son was safely in heaven and loved her very much. Mama also said she was sorry the sad lady had lost her son.  Mama lost her kitties a long time ago, so she could understand such sadness.  Everyone praised Mama for delivering her Very Important Message.
Mama-Eleanora felt happy because the sad lady felt happier too!
Mama Eleanora belongs to the "Clean Plate Club"!!!
Chapter Eight:  In Which Mama Gets Her Share of Whipping Cream - and SALMON!
Scott likes to squirt whipping cream from a can and then eat it off of a paper plate.  He does this several times a day, in spite of the fact that he already knows it is not very good for him.  Brian often does the exact same thing, even though HE knows better, too!
When Mama Eleanora hears the squirting of the whipping cream can, she silently appears at Scott's or else Brian's feet - and THEN she begins to make a lot of NOISE!  VERY loud mewing comes out of Mama.  She keeps it up until Scott or Brian squirts whipping cream in HER dish.  Then she is quiet except for the clicking of her little tongue as she laps up the delightful treat.
At precisely 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Mama knows she will get some tuna.  Sheila says it is more economical these days to buy tuna than it is to buy wet cat food!  Mama is very happy about this because she LOVES tuna.  Just the last few days, Mama Eleanora has been getting SALMON!!  She likes that even better!  She is wondering right now whether she will get TUNA or SALMON in the next three minutes, because it is almost her dinner time!
Mama-E doesn't need any clock to tell her what time it is, but sometimes she has to remind Sheila or Brian or Scott what time it is! They sometimes don't seem to know what important time it is because they are busy talking.  She knows they appreciate it when she reminds them IT'S TIME FOR DINNER........
`````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````

Mama PRETENDS to be the ghost behind the post!

CHAPTER NINE:  THE GHOST BEHIND THE POST!

Momma Eleanora likes to roam the neighborhood and visit all the indoor kitties on the block.  She sits under their windows and looks up at them mockingly because she is the one who is free, and they are stuck inside.  Sometimes she speaks to them, and she can hear them speaking back.  She never visits Pixie next door, however.  Pixie is still MEAN.

Sometimes, Momma-E will be invited inside at  neighbor's house, especially if it is raining and she doesn't feel like going inside her own house when she is called.

One day, a nice neighbor lady invited her inside.  It was thundering outside, and Momma-E was happy to duck inside for awhile.

While the neighbor lady was getting Momma's treats ready, Momma went downstairs to explore.  That was when she spotted the GHOST BEHIND THE POST!  The ghost was trying to hide behind the post, but he couldn't resist showing off to Momma that he could become visible in a little flash of light shaped like an orb.

He flashed his orb at Momma-E, and he knew she saw him, but she tried to pretend like she didn't see him.  Instead, she started washing her right shoulder vigorously.  This is something cats do when they have just made a mistake but want to pretend like nothing at all happened.  It is a diversionary tactic, because cats are pretty perfect, and only occasionally do they get caught doing something stupid - like letting on that they can see ghostly orbs!

Momma-E understood that the GHOST BEHIND THE POST was harmless and didn't even try to scare anybody.  He just wanted to be noticed.  That's the way it is with most ghosts.  Sometimes they don't even know they ARE ghosts, and they feel lonely because nobody ever talks to them anymore.  Momma-E always talks to the lonely ghosts.  She understands their feelings very well.

So the GHOST BEHIND THE POST made friends with Momma, and Momma goes back to that house frequently during the week - not just to see the ghost, of course.  The treat are among the best on the block!!!  Little pieces of smoked SALMON!!  YMMMMMMMMMMMMM!

Chapter Ten:  In Which Mama Sees Scott’s Ears Move Up and Down!

Mama knows that Scott used to be a sage in a former lifetime.  Here’s how she found out:

One day when it was raining and storming outside, Sheila and Scott were talking, and all of a sudden, Sheila exclaimed, “Your ears just moved a whole inch up and then back down again!!”

Scott said, “You mentioned that about a week ago, and it was storming that day, too!”

Mama saw Scott’s ears move up and down, too.  She was watching from the floor where she was waiting and hoping for a whipping-cream break.

Mama understood right away what the ears moving meant because she sees things in pictures.  Here is what she saw:

Scott used to sit in front of a big stone wall and wait for messages to come to him from on high.  Whenever it would get stormy outside, Scott would get messages like crazy, and his ears would move up and down just before the messages started.  It was the way his divine guidance used to get his attention!  They found it very easy to get his attention whenever they moved his ears!

In that lifetime as a sage, people would line up for messages about their lives and their families and their fortunes.  Scott didn’t mind sitting in the rain because it was a very warm land where he lived then with tropical trees, and the rain was a welcome coolness.

The people who lined up for messages didn’t mind waiting in the rain either.  They always celebrated when there was rainy weather.  They all loved to get wet, and the messages came through thick and fast to Scott the Sage whenever it stormed.

Mama saw pictures of all of this, and she transmitted those pictures over to the minds of Scott and Sheila so they could understand why Scott’s ears move up and down when it rains and storms!

Now everyone understands, and everyone looks forward to getting messages when the weather gets rainy and stormy!
