Next time you are feeling rattled, baffled, overwhelmed, angry, sad, depressed, anxious, or any of the host of other difficult emotions that we all experience, try doodling what I call Infinity Flowers:

The symbol for infinity is the figure 8 lying on its side.  Get a notebook and a pen or pencil and start drawing the infinity symbol BIG on a piece of paper.  Retrace it many times.  Tilt your paper a bit and start a new infinity symbol intersecting with the first one.  Retrace it many times.  Tilt your paper again and repeat the process.  Soon you will have an Infinity Flower, and you will feel amazingly happier!  Here's why:

The infinity symbol

  •    Balances both sides of your brain so that you can think better.
  •    Clears your thinking of negative emotion, confusion, and panic.
  •    Eases anxious and tense thoughts.
  •    Promotes creativity.
  •    Promotes relaxation and sleep.
  •    Puts you into the universal prosperity flow!

Reason enough to "do this doodle", right?

Try adding colored pens or pencils for a quick elevation of mood.  Colors stimulate positive thinking.

Stand up and sway your arms back and forth in the infinity symbol to recalibrate and balance your entire aura for well being!

This is what energy medicine is all about.  It is like play:  Easy, fun, and liberating to do!

Here's another doodling idea:

Choose a number from 1-10 as your "number of the day".  Draw it on a piece of paper and see what kind of image you can create from it by extending the lines or tilting your paper and drawing it again and again.  Suspend judgment.  Just let the lines flow!  Your brain and your body will thank you!

Check out the numerology link at the left to learn the basic meaning of the numbers.  Then you will know what the message of the day is when you choose your "number of the day"!

Here's yet another reason doodling does you good:

According to a recent study published in the journal of Applied Cognitive Psychology, doodling may actually help improve your memory.  The basic premise is that doodling serves as a simple secondary task, a slight distraction to prevent your mind from wandering off into daydreams, while reserving the bulk of your mental resources for the primary task.  This means that you have a higher level of concentration and can retain more information than you would otherwise.  I found this article particularly interesting because growing up, I always littered the margins of my textbooks, notebooks, and any other paper product that lay near by, with an array of doodled art.  Sketching in general has always been a therapeutic process for me, and apparently it’s also good for my brain.
