Everything is vibration and energy. The higher you can keep your vibration, the happier you will be. The major reason we are here is to create the vibration of joy and thereby bring joy to the planet. Tuning the chakras is the beginning step in creating the vibration of joy. The seven notes of the musical scale represent the ascent from the base chakra through the crown chakra, and therefore an upward progression in vibration. This chart breaks it all down for you:
DO (Key of C): Relates to the root chakra, which is all about survival and sexuality. It is where guilt and fear reside. DO liberates guilt and fear. When you are feeling guilty and/or fearful, you are operating from your root chakra. DO will free you.
RE (Key of D): Relates to the spleen chakra, which is all about safety and security. RE facilitates change and creates a feeling of stability.
When you are feeling insecure and unsafe, RE will change your vibration to stability so that you can act rationally.
MI (Key of E): Relates to the solar-plexis chakra, which is all about self-esteem and is the seat of the emotions. MI repairs DNA and causes transformation and miracles in the psyche. When you are feeling emotionally wounded, MI will transform your emotions so that you can be happy.
FA (KEY OF F): Relates to the heart chakra, which is all about relationships, love, and sensitivity. FA brings about connecting and relationships. When you are feeling lonely or lonesome, FA will help you feel a connection with others, and they will feel your desire for connection when you are interacting together.
SOL (KEY OF G): Relates to the third-eye chakra, which is all about awakening intuition. SOL stimulates your psychic center. When you are feeling blocked from insight or inspiration, SOL will open you to your intuition. Trust it!
LA (Key of A): Relates to the crown chakra, which is all about self-actualization and spirituality. When you are feeling separate from the divine, LA returns you to spiritual order.
TI (Key of B): Relates to the throat chakra, which is all about communication, self-expression, and movement. When you feel like you are not being heard, or you want to be heard but cannot express yourself, or you desire to move about in dancing or other self expression, TI opens your ability to communicate.
You may have noticed that LA and TI, crown and throat, are out of anatomical order here, and that is because back in the 1300's the Solfeggio frequencies scale did not include TI! So I fit it in so that the logical progression of notes would make sense to you.
Some of you also will have noticed that this whole system closely resembles Maslow's Hierarch of Needs, just as an intriguing aside. Maslow talked about the necessity for the lower needs to be satisfied before one can progress to the higher needs, the highest of which was self actualization/spirituality, and the lowest of which was survival and sexuality. Before one can self actualize, one must have one's needs met of sexuality, survival, safety, security, self esteem, self expression, and sensitivity. As soon as one's lower needs are threatened, one tends to tumble from being self actualized to being in whatever rung they have tumbled.
So, next time you have a worry or fear, ask yourself which chakra you are acting out of, match it to its musical note, and start humming! You can even hum or sing inside your head without making a single sound, and it still works!
